Technical Features & Benefits

The IC695ALG616-JF is engineered to address demanding analog signal acquisition tasks in industrial automation systems. With support for 16 single-ended or 8 differential channels, this module enables high-density input consolidation, reducing rack footprint and wiring complexity.  You can configure each channel for either current (such as 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA, ±20 mA) or voltage (such as ±10 V, 0-10 V, ±5 V, 0-5 V, 1-5 V) depending upon your sensor or instrumentation environment.

In practice, that means if your facility is measuring flows, pressures, temperatures or other analog instrumentation, you can rely on this module to handle both voltage and current types within the same hardware. The 24-bit ADC resolution (as indicated by many sources) ensures that even small changes in sensor output can be captured with fidelity. Another big plus: each channel supports configurable filters (8 Hz to 500 Hz) to help reject noise or unwanted fluctuations in your analog input signals.

Diagnostics are also built in: open-circuit detection, configurable alarms (high, high-high, low, low-low), rate-of-change alarms, and fault reporting per channel. From a maintenance and uptime standpoint, these features are critical: you’ll know when a sensor or connection is going bad before it causes process disruption.

Physically, the module is designed for use in the RX3i backplane, requiring a single slot and leveraging the backplane power. This allows you to retrofit existing racks or upgrade with minimal mechanical rework.  If you’re replacing an older analog card of lower density, swapping in the IC695ALG616-JF may allow you to reduce rack slot usage or shrink your footprint, which is beneficial for panel space or modular distributed I/O setups.

Performance wise, the combination of high channel count and flexible signal types means fewer modules, less wiring and lower system cost—while still providing the precision and diagnostics needed in advanced control systems. Whenever I’ve specified this module in a retrofit I/O island, those benefits of consolidation and diagnostics have stood out.
