Product Introduction

The Honeywell CC-TAIX01 is the standard, non-redundant field termination assembly for 16-channel analog input on Experion PKS Series-C — pair it with CC-PAIH01/02 (HART) or CC-PAIX01/02 (no HART) to bring in 4-20 mA or voltage transmitter signals. Twelve channels are fixed single-ended; channels 13–16 ship single-ended too, but you can cut an on-board jumper per channel to enable differential operation on those four.

Since the IOTA carries no active electronics, field power routes straight through it with no external marshalling supply needed. If your application needs all 16 channels differential rather than just 13–16, step up to the CC-TAID01/11 IOTA instead.

Troubleshooting Quick Reference

Symptom Possible Cause Relevance to This Part Quick Check Method Recommendation
No power to the IOM IOTA not receiving 24 VDC bus power ✅ High Measure incoming 24 VDC at the IOTA power terminals Check upstream power supply — the IOTA has no active electronics of its own
Single channel reads wrong or open Field wiring fault, not the IOTA ❌ Low Verify wiring at the detachable terminal against the wiring diagram Correct field wiring first — the IOTA is passive
Channels 13–16 won’t operate differential Jumper not cut on the IOTA ✅ High Inspect the wire jumper on the affected channels Cut the jumper per the wiring diagram — not a defect, this is a user-configured option
Differential channel reads outside CMV spec Jumper cut but CMV limits exceeded ✅ Medium Verify signal source stays within the −6 to +5 V CMV spec of the paired IOM Correct source wiring/grounding — check the IOM spec, not the IOTA
Suspected IOTA damage (physical) Corrosion, cracked terminal, mechanical damage ✅ High Visual inspection of terminals and connector pins Replace IOTA — physical damage is the main failure mode on passive hardware

Since this IOTA has no signal-conditioning electronics, most “IOTA faults” reported in the field trace back to wiring, the jumper configuration, or the paired IOM. If hardware damage is confirmed, send terminal and connector photos to support for verification.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is this the analog input module, or just the termination assembly?
Just the termination assembly. CC-TAIX01 has no signal-conditioning electronics — it’s the field wiring interface. You still need a CC-PAIH01/02 or CC-PAIX01/02 IOM plugged into it to process the input signal.

Can channels 13–16 run differential without any modification?
No — they ship single-ended by default. You need to cut a wire jumper on the IOTA per channel to enable differential mode, and doing so also disconnects the low-side input from system common on those channels. Check the wiring diagram before cutting — it’s not reversible without rework.

What if I need all 16 channels differential, not just 13–16?
Use the CC-TAID01 IOTA instead (non-redundant, 9″ footprint) — it’s built for full 16-channel differential operation with the CC-PAIH02 or CC-PAIX02 IOM.

Is the CC-TAIX01 hot-swappable?
The IOTA itself is generally not pulled live — de-energize the rack slot before removing it. The IOM plugged into it follows the standard no-live-insertion rule for Series-C IOMs.

Does this IOTA support redundancy?
No. CC-TAIX01 is the non-redundant, 6″ version. For the same channel configuration with redundant IOM support, use CC-TAIX11 (12″).

Why is this cheaper than a factory-direct quote?
This is a New Surplus/New Original unit — factory-sealed, serial-verified, never installed — sourced outside Honeywell’s direct sales channel. You skip the OEM markup and lead time; our inspection and warranty terms stand in for a factory warranty.

What’s tested on a termination assembly before it ships?
Since it’s passive hardware, testing focuses on physical and electrical integrity: continuity check across all terminal paths, visual inspection for corrosion or damage, connector pin inspection, and a mated fit-check with a known-good IOM. Photos available on request.
