Product Introduction
The Honeywell CC-TAOX01 is the non-redundant field termination assembly for 16-channel analog output on Experion PKS Series-C, built to accept either the HART-capable CC-PAOH01 or the straight-current CC-PAOX01 IOM on the same wiring. That flexibility matters if you’re not sure yet whether a loop will need HART configuration and status down the road — the termination hardware doesn’t force the choice.
Since it carries no active electronics, field power routes straight through the IOTA with no external marshalling supply needed. It’s the direct swap target whenever a non-redundant 16-channel AO slot needs replacing, regardless of which IOM variant is currently installed.
Troubleshooting Quick Reference
| Symptom | Possible Cause | Relevance to This Part | Quick Check Method | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No power to the IOM | IOTA not receiving 24 VDC bus power | ✅ High | Measure incoming 24 VDC at the IOTA power terminals | Check upstream power supply — the IOTA has no active electronics of its own |
| One channel outputs 0 mA / open-circuit fault | Broken field wiring at the terminal | ❌ Low | Measure loop current and continuity at the IOTA terminal | Correct field wiring first — the IOTA is passive |
| All 16 channels dead | IOM fault, not the IOTA | ✅ High | Swap in a known-good CC-PAOH01 or CC-PAOX01 IOM on the same IOTA | If the fault follows the IOM, the IOTA is fine — replace the IOM instead |
| Loop shows no HART communication | Non-HART IOM (CC-PAOX01) installed instead of CC-PAOH01 | ✅ Medium | Confirm which IOM part number is actually installed | Swap to CC-PAOH01 if HART is required — not an IOTA fault |
| Suspected IOTA damage (physical) | Corrosion, cracked terminal, mechanical damage | ✅ High | Visual inspection of terminals and connector pins | Replace IOTA — physical damage is the main failure mode on passive hardware |
Since this IOTA has no signal-conditioning electronics, most “IOTA faults” reported in the field trace back to wiring or the paired IOM. If hardware damage is confirmed, send terminal and connector photos to support for verification.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is this the analog output module, or just the termination assembly?
Just the termination assembly. CC-TAOX01 has no signal-conditioning electronics — it’s the field wiring interface. You still need a CC-PAOH01 or CC-PAOX01 IOM plugged into it to actually drive the current loop.
Does this IOTA support HART?
The IOTA itself doesn’t process signals either way — HART capability comes entirely from which IOM you install. Plug in CC- for HART configuration and status, or CC-PAOX01 for straight 4-20 mA output. Same wiring, same terminals, either IOM.
Is the CC-TAOX01 hot-swappable?
The IOTA itself is generally not pulled live — de-energize the rack slot before removing it. The IOM plugged into it follows the standard no-live-insertion rule for Series-C IOMs.
Can I upgrade this to a redundant configuration later?
Not by modifying this IOTA — CC-TAOX01 is fixed at 6″, non-redundant. For redundancy with the same dual-IOM compatibility, you’d need CC-TAOX11 (12″) instead, which requires a rack footprint change.
Will swapping IOMs on this IOTA wipe my output configuration?
No. Output range, scaling, and FAILOPT settings live in the Experion Control Builder database, not on the IOTA or IOM. The controller re-downloads configuration to the replacement module.
Why is this cheaper than a factory-direct quote?
This is a New Surplus/New Original unit — factory-sealed, serial-verified, never installed — sourced outside Honeywell’s direct sales channel. You skip the OEM markup and lead time; our inspection and warranty terms stand in for a factory warranty.
What’s tested on a termination assembly before it ships?
Since it’s passive hardware, testing focuses on physical and electrical integrity: continuity check across all terminal paths, visual inspection for corrosion or damage, connector pin inspection, and a mated fit-check with both compatible IOM types. Photos available on request.
