Product Introduction

The Honeywell CC-TDI220 is the non-redundant field termination assembly for 32-channel, 220VAC digital input on Experion PKS Series-C — the wiring interface for CC-PDIH01 high-voltage digital input modules. It’s built for field devices running directly off 220 VAC rather than the 24 VDC signals typical of standard DI IOTAs, with 1500V isolation between field and system side.

Since the IOTA carries no active electronics, all signal conditioning happens on the CC-PDIH01 IOM itself — the termination board’s job is safe, isolated field wiring at 220 VAC. If your project needs redundancy at the same voltage class, step up to CC-TDI230 (12″) instead.

Troubleshooting Quick Reference

Symptom Possible Cause Relevance to This Part Quick Check Method Recommendation
IOM shows no power/status 24 VDC bus power to the IOM missing (not the same as field 220VAC) ✅ High Measure 24 VDC bus at the IOTA power terminals separately from field wiring Check upstream 24 VDC power supply — the IOTA has no active electronics of its own
Single channel reads wrong state Broken 220VAC field wiring or dead field device ❌ Low Measure 220 VAC at the specific channel terminal with a properly rated meter Correct field wiring first — the IOTA is passive
All 32 channels dead IOM fault, not the IOTA ✅ High Swap in a known-good CC-PDIH01 IOM on the same IOTA If the fault follows the IOM, the IOTA is fine — replace the IOM instead
Isolation/ground fault alarm Field wiring insulation breakdown or moisture ingress ✅ High Perform an insulation resistance test on the field wiring, isolated from the IOM Repair or replace field wiring — verify before condemning the IOTA
Suspected IOTA damage (physical) Corrosion, cracked terminal, mechanical damage ✅ High Visual inspection of terminals and connector pins — de-energize 220VAC field wiring first Replace IOTA — physical damage is the main failure mode on passive hardware

❗ This assembly carries field-side 220VAC — always de-energize and verify zero energy state before touching terminals, even for a visual inspection. Since the IOTA has no signal-conditioning electronics, most reported faults trace back to field wiring, the paired IOM, or insulation breakdown. If hardware damage is confirmed, send terminal and connector photos to support for verification.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is this the digital input module, or just the termination assembly?
Just the termination assembly. CC-TDI220 has no signal-conditioning electronics — it’s the 220VAC field wiring interface. You still need a CC-PDIH01 IOM plugged into it to actually process the digital input signal.

Can I use this with a standard 24V digital input module instead?
No. This IOTA is wired specifically for 220VAC field voltage and pairs only with CC-PDIH01. Standard 24V digital inputs use CC-TDIL01/11 with CC-PDIL01, which is a completely different voltage class and IOTA.

Is the CC-TDI220 hot-swappable?
No, on two counts — the IOM shouldn’t be pulled live per Series-C standard practice, and the field side is carrying 220VAC. De-energize both the 24 VDC bus and the field 220VAC circuit before working on this assembly.

Does this IOTA support redundancy?
No. CC-TDI220 is the non-redundant, 9″ version. For the same 220VAC channel configuration with redundant IOM support, use CC-TDI230 (12″).

What’s the difference between CC-TDI220 and CC-TDI110?
Field voltage class — CC- is wired for 220VAC field devices, CC-TDI110 for 110VAC. They’re not interchangeable; using the wrong one means either no signal detection or an overvoltage condition on the input circuit.

Why is this cheaper than a factory-direct quote?
This is a New Surplus/New Original unit — factory-sealed, serial-verified, never installed — sourced outside Honeywell’s direct sales channel. You skip the OEM markup and lead time; our inspection and warranty terms stand in for a factory warranty.

What’s tested on a termination assembly before it ships?
Since it’s passive hardware, testing focuses on physical and electrical integrity: insulation resistance test given the 220VAC rating, continuity check across all terminal paths, visual inspection for corrosion or damage, and a mated fit-check with a known-good CC- IOM. Photos available on request.
