Product Introduction
The Honeywell CC-PUIO01 collapses four I/O types into one module: any of its 32 channels can be configured as analog input, analog output, digital input, or digital output — with HART 7 support on the analog side. On the Experion PKS C300 platform, that flexibility means fewer spare-part SKUs and easier field reconfiguration when a project’s I/O mix shifts mid-build.
Open wire detection covers AI, AO, and DI channels, and electronic short-circuit protection eliminates in-line fusing on outputs. Rated to −40°C ambient, it holds up in unconditioned cabinet space where standard Series-C modules would need climate control.

Troubleshooting Quick Reference
| Symptom | Possible Cause | Relevance to This Part | Quick Check Method | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No status LED on IOM | IOTA/rack power loss | ❌ Low | Measure 24 VDC bus at IOTA power terminals | Check power supply before replacing the IOM |
| One channel reads/behaves wrong after a config change | Channel still configured for the old I/O type | ✅ High | Verify channel configuration (AI/AO/DI/DO) in Control Builder matches actual field wiring | Reconfigure the channel — not a hardware fault |
| AI channel flags open-wire / bad PV | Broken field wiring or dead transmitter | ❌ Low | Measure loop current at the terminal, check against OWD thresholds | Fix field wiring — OWD is working as designed |
| DO channel won’t hold load above spec | Load current exceeds 0.5A/channel or 9A/module | ✅ Medium | Measure actual channel and total module load current | Redistribute load across channels/modules — not a module defect |
| Channels 15–18 not counting pulses | Channel not configured for Pulse Input mode, or frequency exceeds 10 kHz | ❌ Low | Check channel mode assignment and input frequency | Reconfigure channel or verify signal is within 0–10 kHz range |
| Module runs hot / intermittent faults in extended-temp cabinet | Ambient exceeds −40 to +70°C rating, or airflow blocked | ❌ Low | Check cabinet ambient temperature and airflow | Improve cabinet cooling before assuming module failure |
If the fault persists after confirming channel configuration and field wiring, send the diagnostic buffer readout and channel-by-channel configuration list to support for faster root-cause turnaround.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is the CC-PUIO01 hot-swappable?
No. De-energize the IOTA slot before pulling or inserting the module — no live insertion on this platform.
Can I really put an analog input and a digital output on the same module?
Yes, that’s the entire design intent — 32 channels, each independently configurable as AI, AO, DI, or DO. Channels 15–18 have the added option of Pulse Input mode. Just make sure your configuration in Control Builder matches what’s actually wired at the IOTA.
Does it support HART on every analog channel?
HART 7 is supported on the analog I/O channels, whichever ones you’ve configured as AI or AO. It’s not a fixed HART-per-slot arrangement like the dedicated CC-PAIH/CC-PAOH modules — it follows however you’ve assigned the channel.
Will reconfiguring a channel type wipe my other channels’ settings?
No — each channel’s configuration is independent in the Control Builder database. Changing one channel from DI to AI doesn’t touch the others, though you should still verify field wiring matches before the change takes effect.
Can I run this in a redundant pair?
Yes — pair it with the CC-TUIO11 IOTA (18″) for redundancy instead of the CC-TUIO01 (12″) non-redundant version. Note the IOTA footprint changes with redundancy, so confirm cabinet space before ordering.
Why is this cheaper than a factory-direct quote?
This is a New Surplus/New Original unit — factory-sealed, serial-verified, never installed — sourced outside Honeywell’s direct sales channel. You skip the OEM markup and lead time; our test report and warranty stand in for the factory warranty.
What’s actually tested before this ships?
Power-on self-test, I/O Link communication handshake, and per-channel simulation across all four configurable I/O modes (AI, AO, DI, DO), plus insulation resistance testing. Test photos/videos available on request.
